Public Transportation

DeSoto Council on Aging provides parish-wide public transportation. The service is available to all parish residents for a nominal fee. Persons with Medicaid cards are eligible for free non-emergency transportation to doctor’s offices, grocery stores, pharmacies, dentists and hospitals.

C. E. Rusty Williams Airport

The airport is a general aviation airport approximately three miles from City of Mansfield on state Hwy. 171 serving both private and corporate aviation. The airport is on approximately 1,000 acres of land. On site – fuel and courtesy vehicle. The DeSoto Parish Industrial Park is located at the airport.

Shreveport Regional Airport

The SR Airport (commercial) is approximately 40 miles away

Railroad Services

The available railroad services in DeSoto Parish are KCS (Kansas City Southern) and Union Pacific.

KCS runs along the east sides of the parish passing directly through Mansfield and services

International Paper and the CLECO power plant.

Union Pacific runs through Logansport and up through the west side of parish passing through Keachi

heading north. Union Pacific Railroad access is available at the town’s industrial site north of Logansport on La. Highway 5.

Freight Service:

The available freight services in DeSoto Parish are KCS and Union Pacific. National carriers UPS and FedEx

service the area for other shipping needs.

In Shreveport, available freight services are 14 heavy haulers and 40 commercial freight companies in Shreveport area.
