Moore makes Mansfield First Tee history

Thursday, May 16, 2013

Victoria Moore, a graduating senior, of Mansfield High School officially accepted a golf scholarship for her collegiate career.

Moore has been a participant in the Mansfield First Tee organization since it was founded. Moore encouraged the creation of a golf team on the campus of Mansfield High School and found support from volunteers that wanted to see students succeed. Moore has gone on to compete and place in golf tournaments and now finds herself with a scholarship to continue to play the sport she loves.

The First Tee Program provides youth development programs, teaching values of integrity, respect, and perseverance in the game of golf. The Mansfield First Tee organization was founded in 2008 by community volunteer Stewart Collins and acreage for a course was donated by the Calhoun family.

The efforts of countless volunteers and government entities have provided grand opportunities for youth accomplishments. Moore is the first to continue from the First Tee program and receive a scholarship.
